Description:

The blue jay measures 9-12in in length and has a wingspan of 13-17in. There is a crest, crown of feathers, on the head of the blue jay which rises or lowers depending on the bird's mood. For example, when excited or aggressive, the crest might be fully raised.

Habitat:

Breeds in deciduous and coniferous forests. Native to North America- eastern and central United States, southern Canada.
