Field Notes

Description:

Moth of about 2 cm in length. Smoky grey with rust colored band on the posterior edge of the front wings. It has a white band across the upper segments of the abdomen. Pictures 2 and 3 were taken on 14 April 2014 in the same place. Family Geometridae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Thank you bayucca, it certainly looks like a Pero Moth. There are so many colors of these moths and varying patterns of wing edging.
Geometridae, Ennominae and looks like being a Pero sp.. Please, verify, I am not 100% sure.
