Hi there. At a quick glance, the viceroy definitely looks a lot like the monarch, but one easy thing to look for is the dark line across the hindwings. The viceroy has this line and the monarch does not. Thankfully, your photos show this quite clearly. :-) When you get a moment to update your spotting, please go ahead and move it over to the Arthropods category. Thanks!
