Description:

I'm excited about this one! this is the first of this species on Project Noah, the first male of this species reported to BugGuide and first ever from Alaska! It's not a commonly seen wasp. The females look very similar but with a white band on the flagellum. The females hibernate but not the males. This male has red wings and abdomen, black and white legs, white scutellum, and black abdomen, head and antennae.

Habitat:

Low growing plants and rocks in field.
