Field Notes

Description:

This butterfly has wings which exposes a vibrant orange color but when closed, makes it look like a dried leaf, hence the common name. This could be a subspecies as it contains pattern variation compared to populations from other states.

Habitat:

Found it on "sipping" water from the algae-growing walls of the hostel in Tawau Hills Park (Last 2 photos). Possibly live in the forest edge areas.

Notes:

>>>Map accuracy: 5m diameter.
