Description:

Crested Lark has a rusty orange patch under the wing which was not evident on this one when it flew (pic 2).

Habitat:

Mountain airfield with scattered bushes, this was on an adjacent cemetary wall.

Hmm Malcom this one really looks like a Crested Lark. You can't be sure this one's underparts are not sandy-buff, because I dare to say there's a slight orange tinge on the wings. Either way, that aspect really varies with the light, visibility and so forth, so Id'ing them based on that alone is bound to fail. The really pointed crest, the long bill with straight lower mandible (3rd a 4th pics) and the absence of marked streaks on the 1st individual's chest are typical of the Crested Lark.
