Field Notes

Description:

Fairly large caterpillar. Brown coloration with lighter and darker patterning. Hump on rear (A8) and slight hump at A1-A2 area (behind front area of body, see photo 5). Photo 2 is defensive posture.

Habitat:

Suburban backyard, found on Common Plantain.

Notes:

I believe this is a Noctuid.
