Field Notes

Description:

A smaller than usual yellow butterfly. Differentiated from other grass yellows by a couple of brown smudges and a spot.

Habitat:

Adjacent to a small stream. Altitude 1000m.

Notes:

Quite a rare butterfly and my first sighting, but I knew it was special as soon as I saw it from 20 feet away. It took quite a bit of chasing before I finally nailed a shot, as it flitted just above the ground, from bloom to bloom.
