Description:

Yellow Pond Lily (Nuphar variegata). A perennial plant also known as bullhead lily and varigated yellow pond lily. Blooms June - August. Plant height: to 7 feet deep water. A single flower rising above the water with 3 round bright yellow petals. Leaves are oval to heart-shaped, 4 to 10 inches long and about 2/3 as wide, with a rounded tip and deep cleft at the base. This yellow pond lily was in a pond at Pocomoke River State Park, Pocomoke City, Maryland.
