Field Notes

Description:

Sea cucumbers communicate with each other by sending hormone signals through the water. They are marine animals and are found on the sea floor worldwide. They serve a useful purpose in the marine ecosystem as they help recycle nutrients, breaking down organic matter after which bacteria can continue the degradation process.

Notes:

I photographed this Sea Cucumber in a tidal pool.
