Field Notes

Description:

The flower buds start out pink, but when fully open the front part of the flower is white, while the tube on the back is pink. The leaves are somewhat fleshy, but thin with pink veins. Long, pink flower stalk.

Habitat:

On the side of a trail in moderate to wet, limestone-rich soil. 7-mile loop trail in the Crystal River Preserve State Park
