This is the only species of hummingbird that regularly nests east of the Mississippi River in North America.

Hummingbirds do make me chuckle because they are so tiny but so bossy and territorial over feeders, There was a blue necked Jacobin in Trinidad exactly the same and wouldnt let any other birds come near 'his' feeder :-)
Thanks, Debbie. There are several that visit the feeders every day and two in particular seem to argue over who gets to be there. They are constantly chasing one another away (even though they could share as there are 3 feeders).
