Field Notes

Description:

Gold dragon fly with brown spots on the wings. Approximately 1 inch long.

Habitat:

Backyard habitat with tree, flowers and pool.

Notes:

Dragonflies swoop down upon the pool in the morning to feast on the insects in the pool. When they misjudge the water surface they land in the water. This one was fortunate in that when I placed the creature on the flower to dry, the dragonfly recuperated and flew away.
