Species ID Suggestions

Comments (1)

Were you able to get any other pictures or observe the color of the wings? This could be a male Blue Grosbeak, Guiraca caerulea : http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Blue_Grosbeak/id http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blue_Grosbeak or a male Indigo Bunting, Passerina cyanea: http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/Indigo_Bunting/id http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigo_bunting These two birds look almost the same from the front. The Blue Grosbeak has reddish-brown (called rufous) bars on the wings and light corners on the tail, whereas the Indigo Bunting is all blue and almost black with no markings. I hope this helps with an ID.
