Fun fact! Great crested flycatchers have an interesting strategy to protect their eggs and young – they often incorporate shed snakeskins into their nests as a warning to would-be predators. Recent scientific research has demonstrated this to be an effective deterrent, but unfortunately many nests are now found to contain cellophane wrappers and other items of litter. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10153123193295603&set=a.10152575329380603.958289.10150120463815603&type=1
