found him laying in the road and took him home. i had to show my daughter the box turtle since my wife had these as pets.

He's beautiful! I hope he was returned to the wild afterwards. It's always best for them to help them across the road in the direction they are headed (as long as they are not injured) or return them to where they were found. They will go to great lengths to return to the same place every year (so if they are relocated, they will spend extra energy to return to where they were originally going).
