Field Notes

Description:

Dark blue almost black on top with a rusty underside and the traditional swallow tail. Nests are made primarily of mud and usually built under the open eaves of buildings with three to four eggs in a nest.

Habitat:

Open field with structure. This group of three nests was at a rest stop off of I-95 in South Carolina.
