rosa , i am likely to go with fish. I added a pic of it's profile,if that helps.
http://www.birds.cornell.edu/crows/FishCrow.htm I don't remember the call but I do remember that it seemed smaller than the regular crow. Tough one! Leave it for L:iam!!
I don't know much about that. I resort to calls for the crows. Fish crows are smaller and have shorter legs in proportion to their body. As for habitat it could be either. At least that is my opinion.
What made me think of fish crows is that their wings fall short of their medium-length, square tails.
Thanks again Rosa Maria. I have updated the spottings accordingly.
Hey Hema, if this bird happened to have made a call when you saw it that may help you a lot. Check out the call on this link: http://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/fish_crow/id. Then listen to the American Crow. Fish Crows have that more nasally quality to it's call.
also habitat and size may indicate? smaller and near lake.
As I understand it, the only way to tell the difference between that and an American Crow is by listening to its call. I've been told that it is impossible to tell from a picture, although I'd love to hear differently.
