Field Notes

Description:

This is a terribly invasive terrestrial snail species with a voracious appetite that can denude plants when they occur in great numbers. See the previous spotting at this location just over a year ago to get an idea of the seriousness of this pest http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/13042309

Habitat:

Observed in great numbers on ornamental vegetation along the boundary fence of a large village yard. Surrounding habitats included freshwater swampforest, sago swamp, ocean beach and a forested limestone cliff ridge.
