Field Notes

Description:

As I was walking around the yard, this large crab spider came ballooning (ballooning is when spiders send a strand of webbing into the air and catch the breeze to transport themselves somewhere else) down from somewhere right into the grass in front of me! Grayish tan coloration with very long legs. Darker spots on legs. Fast runner.

Habitat:

Suburban yard.
