I agree - - it looks like a flying squirrel head. I'm only familiar with the Southern Flying Squirrels though. Still, I think it's safe to assume that's what it is.
Thanks for the suggestion. It did look similar to pictures of a Northern Flying Squirrel.
Maybe a northern flying squirrel? I don't think bats would go in or out of a small hole like that. See this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_flying_squirrel
