Field Notes

Description:

Bumble bee; smaller than the B. vosnesenskii and B. melanopygus foraging nearby. More yellow coloring on the abdomen and thorax, less distinct borders between black and yellow, and a goldish rather than bright yellow color.

Habitat:

Ceanothus, California lilac bush

Notes:

Hopefully I will get better pictures of this guy soon.
