Description:

This is a federally endangered plant in the United States. It is the only species of Sagittaria in the Southern Appalachian region that does not have arrowhead-shaped leaves. This plant requires a seepage habitat, which is very threatened, and it only occurs in two counties of North Carolina at present. These plants were rescued from an endangered site and are being kept by the NC Botanical Garden until they can be re-planted in a secure site.

Habitat:

Mason Farm Biological Reserve
