Habitat:

Found her crossing a road down from our lake, in Nashville Indiana.

Notes:

Guessing female from the tail and she is probably did or is laying eggs :) she was trying to bite me as soon as I helped move her out of our road

Oh I can imagine! Trying to survive :) my 3 year old was so excited and amazed how big she was!
I can sympathize, AmityHood ... I've rescued a couple of ungrateful snapping turtles from traffic who did the same thing. And hissed! But, to be fair, it must be alarming to be lifted up into the air.
Just updated it! She was turning that neck around to bite me as soon as I moved her out of the traffic! I haven't seen a turtle like this so I was very excited
