Spreads every where. Very difficult to remove as it breaks when pulling it.

This is a monster to control once it hits your garden. :(
I think it is Scouring horsetail- Equisetum arvense. E. hyemale doesn't have leaves, it is "naked". Now if it is hollow then it is probably E. telmatea
Does it have a common name? Is it true that it invasive in the pacific northwest? Where does it come from?
I agree with Suzanne, it is definitely in the Genus Equisetum.
I think that's Horsetail Reed, Equisetum hyemale ...
