Field Notes

Habitat:

Small town, by a road

Notes:

Found a peacock butterfly caterpillar trying to cross a road which would have have ended by getting killed by a car so I took it home. I put it in a box with some nettle plant because had no time to find a better spot to release it or make photos and the next day I checked it, it had already hanged itself upside down and after a few hours it had formed the cocoon. After 10 days the butterfly enclosed (Photo 2, but got no photo with totally straightened wings) and released it.

An adult can be seen here: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/36047010
