Field Notes

Description:

The Eurasian Wren, is a very small bird, and the only member of the wren family Troglodytidae found in Eurasia. In Anglophone Europe, it is commonly known simply as the Wren.
It occurs in Europe, a belt of Asia from northern Iran and Afghanistan across to Japan. It is migratory in the only northern parts of its range. In Denmark they are found all year.

This particular nest was built inside a long grass in a round shape with a single opening. There were either 4 or 5 chicks.

Habitat:

Opening in a forest with a long grass (undergrowth).

Notes:

I had passed by that spot a few times before but the nest is so perfectly camouflaged that it's almost impossible to see. This time I saw a bird flew away and the only reason a bird would let me get close would be that there is a nest so I searched the spot and there was this nest hidden inside the undergrowth.
