I think this may actually be a Chinese Mantid. It's hard to tell with nymphs. The dark markings on the inside of the claw area are consistent. I know it has dark marks in the "armpit" area but some Chinese Mantids have that as well. http://bugguide.net/node/view/698434/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/599154/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/557647/bgimage European Mantises seem to have a yellow spot on the inside of the claw area and seem to have reddish or purple coloration on the femora of back pairs of legs (more often than not from the images I have seen) like here: http://bugguide.net/node/view/684227/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/673211/bgimage http://bugguide.net/node/view/433608/bgimage See what you think!
