Description:

Thin body with stripes fading from (head) red to yellow to blue (tail).
It looks like a blue-tailed skink but it was found in Southern California.

Thank you for helping me figure out what species this is :0)
This is not a Five-lined Skink as they are not native in California. Skinks have a much shorter, broader tail than whiptails. The hind toes on whiptails are much longer as well. This is a juvenile. http://www.californiaherps.com/lizards/pages/a.h.beldingi.html
