37.0816, -8.67257
Field Notes
Description:
Gull - the Yellow-legged Gull and Lesser Black-backed Gulls can be difficult to separate much of the time, both being descendants of the original Herring Gull. The underside of the leading Primary holds a clue, having a white patch almost to the tip on the YLG. With the bright sunlight almost washing out the grey marks on the head of the LBBG, which has 2 variable races here. Then there is the very similar Caspian Gull, only recently split from the YLG but also possible here although few officially confirmed sightings.
Habitat:
Coastal rocks
