Field Notes

Description:

A species of dove native to Asia and Europe, but has migrated to North America. It is commonly called the collared dove, because its most distinctive feature is the black markings around it's neck.

Habitat:

Eurasian Collared-Doves live in urban and suburban areas throughout much of the U.S. except the Northeast. In rural settings look for them on farms and in livestock yards where grain is available.
