Description:
A male Great-tailed Grackle has feathers that are pitch black, with a hint of purple on back and breast. The male are slender and has long legs with straight bills. While a female Great-tailed Grackle are smaller, and has brown feathers with a pale breast.
Habitat:
In rural areas, you can find grackles pecking for seeds in feedlots, farmyards, and newly planted fields. In town, you can find grackles foraging in parks, neighborhood lawns, and at dumps.
Notes:
Great-tailed Grackles are loud, social birds that can form flocks numbering in the tens of thousands.
