Field Notes

Description:

Colorful, large female orb weaver approximately 2 inches in size. Her web is quite large, with a small males nearby.

Habitat:

Woods, forest and swamp.

Notes:

I saw several of these spiders at Alfred B. Maclay Gardens State Park in Tallahassee, Florida.
