Description:

Spongy yellow mushroom growing on forest floor. Misshapen, did not seem to have a definitive form.

Habitat:

Deciduous forest. Penitentiary Glen, Lake Metro Parks, Lake County, Kirtland, OH USA.

Species ID Suggestions

Thanks, CorduneanuVlad. I am not quite convinced that this is a chanterelle. Based on descriptions I am reading. Also this seems paler in color. I will keep looking for now but barring any smoking gun I'll probably go with this ID.
