Field Notes

Description:

Beautifully engineered "house" of a Case Moth Larva. This one is now attached permanently to the leaf by silk and closed so it is now pupating.
2 cm long. Family Psychidae.

Habitat:

Heavy shrubbery along the highway between San Cristobal de Las Casas and Tuxtla Gutierrez, km 11.5, 865 meters.
