Field Notes

Description:

The flower is a mass of small individual yellow flower heads arranged in large, arching, spike cluster, 3-9" tall. The leaf is narrow, up to 6" long, rough to touch, sharp teeth along edges, fewer leaves near base of stem.

Habitat:

dry, sun, open fields, prairies

Notes:

This plant, along with many others, was spotted along Hwy 29 near Tamarac Lake..
