Field Notes

Description:

Dorsal view of a delicate, ivory-colored butterfly. Like monarchs, and other Danainae, these butterflies are thought to taste bad to predators such as birds due to the butterfly's food source.

Habitat:

Seen at The Key West Butterfly and Nature Conservatory. Native to Southeast Asia, but it is also found in Northern Australia and Southern Taiwan. Prefers mangroves and rainforests.
