Field Notes

Description:

Large, distinctively coloured pigeon.

Habitat:

It is found in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical mangrove forests, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.
Spotted on the campus of Pacific Adventist University near Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea.

Notes:

Also known as Zoe's Imperial Pigeon, and the banded Imperial Pigeon.
