Field Notes

Description:

I saw dozens of these in a pile of rock rubble. It appeared there were larger males with a distinct ridge along the back. I think the smaller ones without ridges were females. There were also many tiny juveniles. All were mottled brown in color (no green). The patterns were highly variable. The large males were 4 to 5 inches in length.

Habitat:

Rock rubble pile right along walking path on resort property. Located about 50 feet from shore of bayou.
