Description:

I found this innocent kid on a rainy day at the university of Peradeniya , Sri Lanka. As I think,It had fallen from it's nest. On that day,I tried to find it's nest with my friends(Lakkana,Saumya & Sew). But we couldn't find that. So I decided to provide protection to him untill it mature.I did it more than two weeks.Above pictures will show you it's growth.I wanted to send him back to it's natural world. But I couln't do that. Unfortunately It died last week. But I don't know the reason. I'm still worring about that......I miss him a lot!

Well done for rescuing him, Dilan. I'm sorry that he died, but it's great that you tried to save him.
How sad. I've had similar experiences in the past trying to rescue baby birds and animals and it's a really difficult job, even for rehabilitators.
Poor baby..may be he needed some special food or otherwise could have been that he had some internal damage from the fall..at least you tried save him :-)
It is hard not to become attached to these tiny fledglings. it can be very challenging to take care of them when they are so tiny. You did very well though! Sometimes things are just not in our control!
