Habitat:

About 11,500 ft elevation. Mountain scrubland, near mixed forest.

Notes:

The red on the abdomen of this Syrphid Fly mimics the red on the abdomen of the predominant bumblebees in the area. ID'd at BugGuide by Martin Hauser. 129
