Field Notes

Description:

there appear to be a few of the spesies' younger individuals (instars), one type is about 3mm in length and its carapace is shiny black, and another type which is medium sized (approx - 1cm in length) has a light brown colouration and underdeveloped wings...and then there are these two mating adult pair...would love to know what they're called scientifically~ :)

Habitat:

This pair was mating amongst the leaves of Polyscias fruticosa, shot taken during midday.

Notes:

it feeds on plant sap and uses its 'proboscis' mouth to penetrate the host plant's soft shoots.
