Field Notes

Description:

This beetle was about 1/4 inch in length.

Habitat:

Spotted on the edge of a field.

Notes:

I actually saw about 6 Multicolored Lady Asian Beetles today. All in close proximity. This was the only one I got any fairly decent pictures of. I even saw one with about 3 dozen Laboulbeniales on its left side. I have never spotted those before.

Thank you very much for the kind words and correction, ForestDragon.
Hi k.andrews nice find! There are a few common names for Harmonia axyridis: Multicolored Asian Lady Beetle and Harlequin Lady Beetle are the most common here in the US. Harlequin Ladybird is used in the UK. The Fifteen-spotted Lady Beetle refers to a different species, Anatis labiculata: http://bugguide.net/node/view/8372
