Field Notes

Description:

Aphids are plant lice. They are sap sucking insects and one of the most destructive pest species. While they feed on plants, they release a sweet liquid called honeydew, which attracts ants. In return, ants form a Mutualistic relationship with aphids and protect them from predators like spiders and other insects.
