Field Notes

Description:

A lone mushroom growing out from under a log. Cap is brown, becoming paler towards the edges. The middle of the cap had small little "hairs." Gills are free. White stipe and white to cream-colored gills.

Habitat:

Next to a fallen oak branch. This forest had a lot of oak, magnolia, and some other hardwoods interspersed. Sweetwater Wetlands Park
