Description:

The Greylag goose is the largest of the grey geese of the genus Anser. They are common in the lowland regions of Iceland where they breed in marshy areas.

Habitat:

Marshy area in lowland moor.
Þingvellir National Park, Iceland

Notes:

Britain hosts almost the entire Icelandic population of Greylag Geese in winter. From one winter to the next they almost always return to the same region.
