Field Notes

Description:

It is adapted to being nocturnal and has eyes so small that it can hardly see. It relies on its long snout that has excellent smelling power.

Habitat:

Western Himalayas. Widespread across South-east Asia.

Notes:

The shrew was crossing our ground when me and my dog noticed it at the same time and both ran to see it. I caught my dog just before he was going to catch hold of it.

Alice, they spend most of the time hiding but they can be seen while moving from one place to another...usually the whole family moves in 'caravan'. keithp2012, it was a baby. It was half the size of an adult.
Looks like a baby that got seperated from the nest
