Field Notes

Description:

Greyish duck with dark maned head and rather goose like stance. Male has a prominent mane, black undertail coverts. This fellow looks like he was doing a little dance for us!

Habitat:

Cowra Japanese gardens

Notes:

Also known as the Maned Duck. Common in wetlands of mainland Australia. Very clean looking duck.
