Field Notes

Description:

These two Egrets were feeding on the banks of the river. The large feathers on the "Great Egret" indicate that is the breeding season of the species.

Habitat:

I found this two specimens on the banks of the river that flows through my town, a region of transition between the Cerrado and Atlantic Forest.

Notes:

In the second photo, there is an individual of the species "Egretta thula," which is much smaller than the "Ardea alba". It passed by quickly, and I could not photograph very well.
Repair that the "Snowy Egret" don't have the long feathers, that indicate that the two species don't have a same breeding season. On this species, in the breeding season, the long feathers are localizated on the top of head.
