Field Notes

Description:

Leaves evergreen,6-10 cm, elliptical, evergreen, gives off odor of camphor when crushed. Ht can go to 40' w/diameter to 2'.
Bark is gray, smooth but becomes rough & furrowed.

Habitat:

Likes moist soils when small. Native to Vietnam, Taiwan & Japan.

Notes:

Fruit 10mm, black single seeds, small white/ flowers in Spring
